Working at Indwel
Serious work. Clear responsibility.
Indwel is built for people who want to understand the whole consequential system and improve it without reducing its complexity to theatre.
What matters here
Whole-system judgement
We expect people to understand how technical choices affect evidence, authority, users and durable institutional outcomes.
Precision without narrowness
Details matter. So does knowing which details govern the whole. The standard is exact work in service of the complete objective.
Calm intellectual honesty
We distinguish what is known, inferred, assumed and still unresolved. Serious disagreement is welcome when it improves the work.
How we operate
Indwel is distributed and documentation-led. Responsibilities are explicit. Written thought matters. Meetings exist to make decisions, resolve ambiguity and advance work—not to simulate momentum.
Senior contributors are expected to carry substantial authority within their domain while remaining answerable to the architecture and objective of the institution as a whole.
Compensation and scope
Compensation is designed around the responsibility, scarcity and expected contribution of each appointment. Practical terms—including location, schedule, employment classification and any equity or incentive component—are stated during the role process.
Substantial interview exercises are bounded and appropriately compensated.
What candidates can expect
- Direct access to the people responsible for the work
- Clear discussion of mandate, authority and success
- Evaluation grounded in relevant evidence rather than performance theatre
- Respect for confidentiality, time and professional standing
- A definite conclusion when a process closes
Access and inclusion
Indwel seeks exceptional people capable of advancing the work. We assess candidates on relevant ability, judgement, evidence and the requirements of the appointment. Reasonable accommodations are available throughout the process.
